Getting around...

January 10, 2008

The MTR system in Hong Kong is so convenient! There are stops everywhere, in every city. Apparently there are lots of buses and taxi's...but we don't know our streets well enough to take those yet...lol

You will see that symbol above in all the cities which means access to the MTR subway system.
We headed out to Mong Kok to have our orientation regarding our trip to Thailand. I'm so glad one of us are able to understand cantonese (thanks mom and dad!). I'm looking forward to our trip!!! Currently the exchange rate is 1 HK = 4 BHAT which means lots of shopping!!!

We then went to Lui Yan Guy in Mong Kok which is the NIGHT MARKET CENTRAL! Lots of cheap stalls everywhere! BARGAIN BARGAIN BARGAIN is what we did!

Here's a picture of a store that sold live crab! Poor little crabbies...lol

UNDERWEAR ANYONE?? lol

There's a street that sells all sorts of fishies! No...not to eat!

For dinner - we met up with Aunty Margaret and Uncle Alfred at Tsuen Wan (below is a picture of the last stop on the MTR to Tsuen Wan), where we had another lovely feast - western style!
I tried to be sneaky like how I've watched my relatives pay for the bill...but Uncle Alfred caught me and stole the bill away from me! We stopped at the Superstore and bought some fresh pineapple - mmmm fresh fruit!!!!

The building on the top right is the tallest building in Hong Kong - the IFC building, it changes lights!!
